The NKARC Hamfest continues. With a successful return last year, NKARC will continue on with tradition of providing the west sound with a great place and opportunity for sell, exchange and just learn about Amateur Radio.
With the return of The North Kitsap Amateur Radio Club Hamfest it provides an opportunity for all amateurs and the public to come and shop the electronics flea market, talk to local hams, and perhaps sell unwanted/unneeded equipment. Various commercial vendors have been invited to participate, and the event is likely to grow in coming years.
The rapid expansion of the amateur radio hobby into satellite and digital modes, the interaction of vhf/uhf repeaters with internet technology, remote control of transmitting and receiving stations, the expansion of radio direction finding and the elimination of Morse code license requirements have all contributed to a big increase in the number of amateur operators. Continued recognition of amateur radio in emergency communication services provides even more of an incentive to become involved and serve the community.
Come join us at the NKARC hamfest and get in on the action!
